floods,floods,floods and even more floods

Floods are happening like crazy in Australia right now and it’s all because of something called La Niña!!!

basically La Niña involves strong trade winds blowing west across the Pacific, pushing warm surface water towards Asia and typically delivering increased rainfall across much of Australia, cooler daytime temperatures south of the tropics and warmer night-time temperatures in the country’s north.

So that means strong winds are blowing warm water all the way to Asia and delivering a lottttttttt of rain to Australia!But for us that means floods.

Now luckily everyone thinks the floods skipped Melbourne and that we will just get a lot of rain but for the other states its a different rodeo!!!

Sydney has the worst of us all with them It only took 279 days to break the city’s annual rainfall record of 2194mm from 1950, with annual data available back to 1859!!! That’s a lot of rain.

In an interview with a Melbourne mum Claire said”I’m worried for all the people that are affected by these floods but I have faith that our weather forecasters are right and that the floods will not come to Melbourne so no I am not worried,I actually know someone who had to move out of their house because they were in the flood zone!”

Obviously people are affected by this some people have died and it just says we need to do some thing before more people get hurt!!!
